More about Perfume: The Story of a Murderer.
Before I move on to my next review, it may be of interest to know that Perfume: The Story of a Murderer was actually turned into a film in 2006. Although the production is German, produced by Bernd Eichinger and directed by Tom Tykwer, the language of the film is English, and the main actor is Ben Whishaw. I have not seen the film, so I cannot comment on it; however, photos and videos can be accessed via the following link. Click here.

Interesting 🙂 I really like Ben Whishaw in 'The Hour' and I'm sure he does a great job of portraying Jean-Baptiste, though the picture I conjured up while reading the book looks very little like him… I suppose that is most often the way with books and movies 🙂
I agree; I did not imagine Grenouille looking like Ben Whishaw (or the other way around…), but perhaps he manages to convey the essence of the man (no pun intended). I have not yet decided whether or not I want to see the film; more often than not, a film never quite measures up to the book.
I saw the film a few years back. It was quite spooky with a great leading actor. Still haven't read the book though.
Thank you so much for stopping by, Fredrik. I feel you should read the book, especially now when you have seen the film. I will consider seeing the film.
